“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

To launch my new collection I have joined forces with the acclaimed photography department of the WIZO Academy of Art and Design, specifically its talented third year students, under the direction of Mr Eli Gross, teacher and mentor of thirty three years and my personal friend, whose virtuosic photographic imagery populates these pages. He has documented both my successes (and follies…) for more years than I care to put to print.

A small group of his students was challenged with a special experimental project to photograph designs from my new Jewelry Collection. The selected items were photographed under two mandates, both of which were intended to be visually arousing whilst not losing sight of the primary goal which is to create a look book for the purpose of marketing the jewelry

This was done in two stages. The first mandate was under my direction and based upon my description of personal inspiration and associations that accompanied the creation of this collection. The second mandate offered the students the freedom to fashion their own vision of the finished article into a photographic set based upon their own free associations and inspirations.
What you see before you is the result of this creative and collective process, following weeks of work, on all our parts, including my own feedback and mentoring at various stages, as well as the group's ongoing feedback, and most importantly by Eli himself.

To complete the process I was invited to the final presentations which required the students, among other things, to explain and justify the results of their work, and accept my critique and the critique of their peers as well as having their work evaluated by Eli Gross.
This was a truly emotional experience for me and I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to the WIZO Academy of Art & Design, to Mr Eli Gross, and most importantly to the students, ……………………… from whom I learnt much than my wildest dreams promised at the outset of this project, and for their unique point of view without which this project would never have succeeded.
